zeitgeist on ice

An awesome video by an awesome coworker of mine made it to Creativity Online, who said:
Former Goodby, Silverstein & Partners staffer Nam Nguyen was dubbed the agency’s employee of the year in 2010. As a result, he got to take a very special trip to Vietnam and bring his father to the homeland he returned to only once—for his brother’s funeral—since he escaped from the country 35 years ago. Here, Nam documents the journey and gives thanks to his former agency.
Creating this type of depth in short form video content is hard to do. It takes layering and editing and compelling narrative and SOUL. It’s not hard for Nam because he is a deep, thoughtful, tremendously talented dude — and a true storyteller.
I feel lucky to have gotten to know Nam, to get to work with him, and now to share this story about his Dad and their trip. Just watching it was a transformative journey that felt much richer than just 4 minutes and 58 seconds. Staggeringly beautiful video.
